80 glock frame brands

80 Glock Frame Brands - The 80% frame market is very hot right now. When Lone Wolf came out with the 80% Freedom Wolf frame, I definitely wanted to try building it. Especially since I'm a fan of their Timberwolf frames. The Freedom Wolf frame is noticeably different from 80% of the other kits on the market.

Like most 80% kits, the Freedom Wolf comes with the necessary tools to build a fully stripped frame. This includes: the "stencil" or jig as many call it, drill bits, front and back rails, rail caps, 2 back straps, press well and adhesive. Yes, the last one is sticky, don't worry, it works better than I thought. Having a flat and curved back is a good option on the 80% frameset, as is the removable magwell.

There are online instructions on how to assemble/build the Freedom Worm. So I'll drive it fast. First, remove the plastic piece where the locking module goes and wipe it clean. Next, remove the 2 tabs with your pliers from where the locking block goes. Then, very carefully, lower the boards to the same height as the inside of the frame. It was probably the most exhausting of me. Now install the "stencil" and put everything in a vice. Drill the holes as indicated. Now remove the dust cover and parts of the plugs on the return spring.

Now that this part is done, we move on to gluing the rails. It seemed strange to me, but it was fine. There are 2 front rails and 2 rear rails, both with rail covers. Rear rail covers are left and right specific. Now buy a small paint brush or 2, steal them from your kids or buy some. Once done, they become unusable. Paint the rail pockets with some of the provided adhesive. Slide the rails into these bags facing outwards. Then apply more glue to the edge of the rail with some rail caps. Press firmly until the glue sets. Now wait at least 48 hours before doing anything else with the frame. After that, you can sort the frame. You will need a parts kit with a locking block and a 4th generation magazine holder. Glue is different but works well.

I ordered a Lone Wolf Parts Kit for the Freedom Wolf. It is very easy because it comes with all the right parts for the frame. I installed the parts kit and put a 3rd generation slide on the frame. Almost every time he released the slide, the pistol fired the striker. Or if I let go of the trigger slowly and press reset, it goes off. not good. I installed a different slide and it got worse. Strike Industries' light slide worked great on this frame. Then I tried a different splitter and that helped a little. Then another trigger bar. You get the idea. I finally figured out which parts worked and which didn't. After hours, the pistol now works perfectly 90% of the time. The rear rails appear to sit higher than they should on the Freedom Wolf frame. It does not catch the striker due to most of the surface of the trigger bar. If the slide is released, it collapses. If the trigger housing pin hole had been drilled by me, the housing would have been set higher and would have actually made it a problem. Tried bending the back rail down a bit, no luck. But it confirmed that the glue is high quality material.

Even with all my issues, the pistol shoots great. At least now I have it working somewhat correctly. The frame is very comfortable. Much smaller than polymer 80 or factory Glock frames. So people with smaller hands may like it more. All 4 slides I tested on the Freedom Wolf sat comfortably with very little play.

If you really want to challenge yourself with 80% frame building, the Freedom Wolf might be just the thing. I had no luck getting them sent for review. At least we know they didn't choose it. I feel it's 80% build and expect something that works better. Lone Wolf does some amazing things. I love my Timber Wolf full frame. Free Wolf, not so much. I bought this as a thin grip and wanted to see how the build process differed from the Polymer80. A stencil, instead of a jig as they call it, doesn't hold the frame securely enough in my opinion. I noticed that the frame sagged in the stencil while drilling my holes. I notice that the locking block pin hole is now oval shaped and not at a 90 degree angle to the frame when inserting the wire through the trigger pin hole. Quick setup. The entire process took only 10 minutes. Basically you don't need to cut the channel for the guide wire and no extra polymer has to be cut from the rail part. Everything turned out well, but there should be a better jig.

The Good: I really like the ergonomics and feel of this frame. I love how it's put together - it looks more like an OEM Glock and less like a Polymer 80. I have 2 polymer 80 pistols and like this better. I like the jig. I followed the instructions including using a drill press and drill clamp. went well! I think it will be great when it's done. The Bad: I've finished my frame but can't get the subs so I have more to do. First, the locking block is a custom part from Lone Wolf, part number LWD-4361. They were ordered from Lone Wolf and I can't find them anywhere else. The Glock 19 OEM locking block will not fit without changing the frame unless the instructions say so. I emailed Lone Wolf and was advised to wait for their parts to arrive, which could take several months. The magnetic release and trigger housing are Gen 4 parts, the rest of the parts are Gen 3. So you can't buy 3rd generation parts and expect it to work. Waiting for the Lone Wolf Parts Kit I ordered. Once parts are available, I think these are the best 80 percent Glock discount on the market. Please login / register to view membership rates, if available.
